Rebuilding Nagcarlan: A Call to Support Hydroponic Growers

Rebuilding Nagcarlan: A Call to Support Hydroponic Growers

This year’s transition from scorching sun to constant rain has been tough. Typhoon Aghon, the first to enter Philippine territory in 2024, brought devastation across Luzon and Visayas. In Nagcarlan, Laguna, community members watched helplessly as their gardens and livelihoods were washed away.

But, despite challenges, a ray of optimism shines. The Nagcarlan Hydroponic Growers, a community that has become a second family on our hydroponic journey, embody perseverance and unity. They’ve been there every step of the way, encouraging and guiding others during demonstrations and gatherings. Their enthusiasm extends beyond their personal accomplishments; they are eager to share their knowledge with everyone interested in hydroponics, whether it be schools, communities, or individuals. They organize seminars and training sessions to provide hands-on experience farming crops using this innovative method.

However, even the most dedicated organizations cannot resist a natural tragedy of such an extent. The Nagcarlan Hydroponic Growers, who have always been generous, now find themselves in need. Their crops, the results of their labour and the foundation of their business, have been destroyed. They have made significant contributions to their community’s sustainability and education, and they now need our assistance to rebuild and recover.
